Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program
Notice: As of July 1, 2024 The Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program Is Currently Paused.
The Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program (CBRAP) provides funding to Illinois tenants and landlords across the state (outside of Cook County) who have pending cases in eviction court. The program is only available to litigants in eviction court. Applicants may qualify for up to $25,000 in emergency rental payments that can include up to 15 months of past-due rent and 3 months of future rent payments to prevent eviction. Economic Growth Corporation is serving as a Housing Stability Services Provider working to assist with applications to those applying for CBRAP assistance funded through the Illinois Housing Development Authority. Through the Court-Based Rental Assistance Program, we serve tenants who have received a summons to eviction court and housing providers with questions regarding the CBRAP. With your court case number and your cooperation, we can help tenants apply for the assistance needed to stop the eviction and decrease the risk of housing instability.
