2026 Homebuyer Schedule

Economic Growth Corporation, a HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agency, offers specialized pre-purchase counseling and homebuyer education designed specifically for Illinois residents, equipping homebuyers with the knowledge they need for a successful home-buying experience.

These classes are hosted by GROWTH and presented by James Jones, GROWTH's Housing Manager and HUD-Certified Housing Counselor, ensuring that our clients receive expert, reliable guidance throughout their homeownership journey.

Participation in our one-day homebuyer education class is a mandatory requirement for all Illinois homebuyers involved in GROWTH’s homebuyer programs.

This class must be completed before any homebuyer(s) can make an offer on a property, ensuring they are fully prepared for the responsibilities of homeownership.

Classes are available both online and in-person, with limited seating, once a month on a Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Participants who wish to attend virtually will need the following:

  • Internet connection
  • A smartphone, computer, or tablet device
If you don't have internet access, you can call in to listen to the webinar using your phone. The webinar link will be emailed to participants one day before the session.
