Home Rehabilitation Accessibility Program (HRAP)HRAP (Home Rehabilitation Accessibility Program) assists seniors and persons with disabilities that are low-income and very low-income homeowners with health, safety, and energy efficiency repairs to their homes, as well as accessibility improvements.
Eligible homeowners may receive up to $45,000 to cover necessary repairs through a five-year, forgivable loan. Funds can assist with home modifications and repairs, depending upon the need, and may include the following: Roof Replacements:
New roof, soffits, fascia, and gutters Accessibility Modifications:
Porches & Stairs- Install a ramp or stairlift (inside or outside). Install secure railings and steps. Sidewalks- replace crumbling concrete pathways Bathrooms- improving accessibility which may include:
For those that are hearing impaired, installation of visual smoke/carbon alarms and doorbells, acoustic tiles For those that are visually impaired, installation of phone entry-system and talking devices Move laundry from basement to main level |
